Marketing Communications Manager

Lapis Group is seeking a creative, strategic, and hands-on Marketing Communications Manager to lead our marketing and external communications efforts across Lapis globally. This role is central to shaping how Lapis presents itself to the world — managing our digital presence, building visibility, and ensuring strong positioning to support our business development and programmatic goals.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and digital strategist with a background in marketing, content creation, and campaign execution. They will work across teams to design and execute communications strategies, develop engaging content, and drive visibility for the organization and its projects.

This role will also support ongoing and future project-based social media needs. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to business development by advising on and developing social media and digital marketing strategies for proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development and lead implementation of marketing and corporate communications strategies aligned with Lapis Group’s mission and growth goals.
  • Lead brand positioning and storytelling across all platforms and materials to enhance Lapis’ visibility among key audiences.
  • Advise on and support Lapis’ participation in industry events, webinars, and outreach activities to expand our network, positioning and reputation.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies and provide regular reports on progress and outcomes.

2. Digital Content, Campaigns & Platform Management (40%)

  • Develop, create, and edit high-quality content (text, visuals, infographics, short-form videos) that promotes Lapis’ work, values, and impact.
  • Manage social media accounts and oversee content planning and publishing across digital platforms, including website and social media, in coordination with relevant colleagues.
  • Lead and manage social media and digital marketing components of specific projects, ensuring alignment with program goals, donor visibility requirements, and campaign objectives.
  • Track and analyze digital engagement metrics to assess performance and optimize content strategy.
  • Regularly update website content, ensuring consistency with ongoing projects and institutional messaging.

3. Business Development & Strategic Communications Support (20%)

  • Collaborate with the CEO, Regional Directors and broader management team to document and communicate the impact of Lapis’ work through case studies, blogs, newsletters, and knowledge briefs.
  • Coordinate with the Business Development and Strategic Partnerships team to advise on and contribute to digital and social media strategies in proposals.
  • Work closely with relevant external consultants (creative, design, subject matter experts) to ensure technical briefs and creative content aligns with broader communications strategy objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a marketing, communications, or digital content role—ideally within a development, humanitarian, or mission-driven organization.

  • Experience leading digital campaigns or managing communications components of donor-funded projects.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required, other languages a strong advantage.
