INNOCENT HEART

Lapis partnered with Creative Associates International in 2014 to co-produce a miniseries called “Innocent Heart”. The six-episode drama followed the story of Kabir, a 12-year-old boy who inadvertently gets caught up in violent extremism following the death of his father. The show touched  on  many  of  the  drivers  that  bring  individuals,  and  youth  particularly,  to  violent extremism. The program was filmed in Pashto and was directed towards Pashtun audiences in the south and the east. It aired on LEMAR TV at primetime.

The storyline demonstrated to the audience how easy it would be for children to unknowingly be recruited into these activities, and to help them stay vigilant to avoid them.

Significant cross-promotion of the program was undertaken, with actors on the series giving interviews on popular MOBY television and radio programs, as well as social media posting across MOBY pages.

Responses to our social media posts were very positive, with an interest to see the program extended for another season, or for more programming in the same vein.
