The Syrian Well-Being Collective

Psychosocial support for children in need

Lapis created a platform for Syrian community-based organizations (CBOs) to coordinate and benefit from technical capacity building, and to enhance access to psychosocial support (PSS) resources and best practices.

The Collective brought together 18 organizations in southern Syria who work across sectors to support children and their families.

The aim was to enhance PSS programming for children and caregivers, and ultimately to increase local awareness of psychosocial distress, locally available PSS services, as well as important coping mechanisms and self-care strategies.

Members learned new skills, connected with like-minded organizations, exchanged experience, and received support and guidance from other members.

5 capacity building trainings were provided, reaching 60 participants,. They covered humanitarian principles, communication skills, campaigning, community outreach, and self-care.

Every month members of the collective reached around 25,000 children through their programs.
